MONEY BOX
An object easily viewed as romantic, and slightly absurd, given the financial climate. Since the concept of money is often taboo, the design is an exploration of its physical trace, reflecting on what an ethical money object—perhaps one aligned with degrowth principles—could entail.
Most money boxes facilitate instant access or destruction: they are quickly unplugged or broken. This design proposes that both saving and spending should require time. What if the object actively resisted and slowed down access, forcing a pause before withdrawal?
The Money Box functions as a small metaphor for consumption. It suggests a healthier relationship with money: less breaking, more waiting. It serves as a gentle reminder for compulsive buyers. An anti–Black Friday box.
